Dave Hamilton & Great Falls Cubs

When I’m not running Reston Painting, you’ll find me coaching the Great Falls Cubs, a team in the Great Falls Little League in my hometown of Great Falls, VA.

Every year, the town of Great Falls gets together on opening day, and this year, 1,000 people turned out at Nike Field. Parents were snapping photos and kids were running around in their uniforms. What I love about living in our town is the support people show. It’s what makes Great Falls great.

Reston Painting sponsors two teams: the 7-10 year old girls (my daughter, Isabelle plays on this team) and a boys team (my son Zack plays on.) My teams have terrific kids and seeing their happiness playing baseball is priceless.

Whether picking up a paint brush to paint, or picking up a bat and ball to play, it’s important to have fun at work and at play.

By now, you’ve probably heard about “green buildings” and “LEED® certified projects”. No mere fad, this shift in construction consciousness toward more environmentally sound methods is gaining momentum every month.

Reston Painting & Contracting is committed to best green practices. Clients will often ask us for our recommendations when painting or renovating their spaces.  We will identify the most effective green materials for your building, from paint and carpeting to energy-saving lighting.

Reston Painting uses earth friendly low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paint. These low-VOC paints don’t cost much more than “regular” paints. We recommend them for public spaces and commercial applications.

In addition, Reston Painting & Contracting follows a number of green practices in its daily operations:

• We turn down the heat in our offices down and shut our doors to keep out cold air in winter
• We drive our our fleet of trucks less
• We have implemented green practices when disposing of paint thinner
• We manage our waste water

We are a member of the Green Building Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable building design and construction.

I'm am at the WMCCAI Expo this past Saturday in Washington, DC

We had a great time at this year’s Expo sponsored by WMCCAI (the Washington DC Metro Chapter Community Associations Institute).

Our new logo and our new look (including our new exhibit) got rave reviews from visitors who stopped by.

I thought the show went very well and I’m encouraged by the conversations I had with various property managers.

Despite our economy, buildings still need to be painted, repaired, and maintained.

Our new Priority Painting Handyman Service got a great reception and we expect to see our handyman teams of painters, drywallers, carpenters and electricians out on the job taking care of the “to-do lists” we heard about. Give us a call at 703-904-1702 for more information.

We’re still the premier residential and commercial painting company serving the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
